Communal boundaries forgotten
The coronavirus outbreak has led the society forget the issues that were dividing us till a few months ago and instead focus on survival. The rich can survive but the problem is for poor for whom every day is a struggle.
Free ration kits
During these tough times, Well age foundation, a non-profit has come forward and has been providing free ration kits to people at Mysuru in Karnataka, “We do not make any religious discrimination while providing food to people. We have offered rations to all sections of the society,” said Allahbakash, district co-ordinator of the non-profit to Chalgenius.
He further told Chalgenius that the rations are arranged through donations of well-wishers.
People in Panic during lockdown
The outbreak of pandemic has also created a sense of panic among people who are becoming tensed even at slight cough or sneeze. But it’s not the time to take even cold and cough lightly as it could be first symptoms of pandemic and better to have the health check-up done.
The images of cops severely baton-charging those venturing outside their houses without any purpose have prevented the movement of people. But it has also made fearful those who want to go out for health check-ups on corona like symptoms but often stay due to fear.
Guiding people on health issues
Wellage foundation has been creating awareness among people in Mysuru in Karnataka on where and whom to approach in case if they suspect of having Covid-19 symptoms. “We realized that people are not aware regarding whom to approach if they face any issues and fear of being targeted by cops. But this is not true. Cops are there to help people and even escort them to health facilities. We are trying to create awareness among people whom to approach if they have any health issues as delay could be fatal. We are working in Mysuru district and also in villages,” told Allahbakash, to Chalgenius.
