Jasdeep Singh, an engineering graduate from Rourkela in Odisha ended up starting a company with his father, Hardeep Singh, in the process of finding solutions to problems witnessed by his family transport business and is currently operating across India along with Middle East countries, Australia and Canada..Just spare a few minutes to laud his initiative…
The beginning
After completing his engineering from SRM Chennai in 2015, Jasdeep started working as a Decision Scientist at MuSigma but left his job three years later to join his family’s logistics and trucking business. But the business was facing a lot of management issues and he decided to find solutions to all the problems. This search for solutions led Jasdeep to give birth to TransportSimple in 2018. It primarily helps to manage daily operations such as trip, inventory tracking, maintenance and employee summary, GST compliant, and driver performance monitoring among others.
Problems led to the formation of TransportSimple
“I found that other fleet owners faced problems similar to us. The industry was very scattered and unorganised and the pen-paper mode of operation was making things very cumbersome. The use of several spreadsheets and registers caused a lot of delays and brought scopes for errors. With GST compliance it became more difficult to manage the affairs of the business. It was then that the idea was conceived. Initially my father and I founded the company but two to three people joined later on and have been contributing towards the company’s growth,” Jasdeep told Chalgenius.
About TransportSimple
It aims at streamlining the operations and accounts of the commercial fleet owners and transporters to increase profits and ease of working. Headquartered in Rourkela, it has a branch in Bengaluru with 18 people. The company is successfully providing services in not only India but in the Middle East, Australia and Canada with around 100 clients.
Catering to a host of requirements
Jasdeep said it is easier to manage the day-to-day operations from making a trip to receiving payments namely invoicing, client summary, journal entries, trip-wise summary, individual vehicle summary, overall reports, custom alerts and notifications, cost calculator, driver report and vehicle documentation, “It is a customized application for managing operations to accounts and business to financial reports from one stop. There are GST compliant accounting modules with reports and live performance monitoring,” he added.
TransportSimple is different
“There are very few people who work in this sector. The existing companies work in all the modules separately and thus offer one service or the other. We provide end to end services from maintenance to tracking the attendance of employees and everything. We are the single solution to everything. In fact here we have all under a single umbrella,” he explained.
Future ahead
“We plan to scale up our operations in the next one year. We have annual subscription plans along with multiple add-ons where the customers are billed based on the size of business. We are aiming at spreading our wings further in the international market with clients across the globe,” said Jasdeep.
