This woman is on a mission to create fifty-thousand women entrepreneurs in the country

A travel buff and certified deep-sea diver-Sucharita Eashwar- launched Catalyst for Women Entrepreneurship (CWE), an online and offline platform for women to start up and grow their businesses in 2017. What is her mission and aim for women? Want to know more about it? Spare a few minutes. ….

Her life

With a degree in English Literature and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from Calcutta University, Sucharita started her career in advertising. However, as the long office hours kept her away from her daughter she went for a career change.

Started a non-profit organization

She started two NGOs ~ Madhyam and VOICES that focused on communication training and policy advocacy for citizen access to media and telecom.

Joined NASSCOM

In 2000, she joined an IT startup and after six years she joined NASSCOM, where she headed three special initiatives: NASSCOM Product Initiative, NASSCOM Diversity and Inclusion Initiative and NASSCOM Mentorship Program.
Next, she was MD India for WEConnect International and started the India operations to connect major corporations to innovative and cost effective products and services offered by Indian women owned businesses.

About CWE

Bangalore-based CWE is a comprehensive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs to start up and scale up their businesses. The platform offers access to Finance, Markets, Trade Networks, Business Skills and Technology as well as provides information on government programs and schemes.

Services

CWE builds women’s capabilities in planning and running a business. It conducts training workshops for women for planning and managing finance, sales and marketing and technology to support their businesses. Assistance is extended to provide access to local and global markets and to connect to customers, service providers and possible partners and collaborators.
Entrepreneurs are equipped on how to leverage technology for success of their businesses and information is provided on how to apply for government schemes and other funding agencies. Along with this hand-holding mentoring is given in different fields from experienced CWE Catalyst and mentors.

Motto

CWE’s motto is to equip 50,000 women with entrepreneurship skills, create 5,000 women entrepreneurship success stories and project 100 women as role models to inspire many others. Let us pause to read about Sucharita and her CWE.

Working module

There are two parts. The first one is a one-time free counseling session that is useful when you are not confident about where to start from but need someone to listen to you and guide you. CWE will schedule the experts who are available for a free talk session of 45 to 60 minutes.
The second part comes when you realise you need a few sessions to sort out your problems and book the expert of your choice. Once you book, the team will help you with your schedule and appointments.

How is CWE different?

Unlike other organizations, CWE provides a comprehensive package of products and services on online and offline platforms, said Sucharita.
