After shedding 28 kilos in one year through her will power and some techniques, a Pune-based lawyer has turned up to become a wellness coach for others. Spare a few minutes to know more about her laudable efforts.
Amrita Srivastava passed her graduation in 2012 and started working as a successful lawyer in many MNCs.
Things, however, changed after her daughter was born and she had to finally leave her job as managing her kid was becoming very difficult if she had to stay out of her house for such long hours as per her job requirement. “It was very difficult to look after a kid as we (she and her husband) both were working. Being an obese, I was always in search of ways to reduce my weight. Initially my weight was 135.5 kg. I tried everything to reduce weight but nothing worked,” Amrita told chalgenius.com.

Consistency is the key
It was while searching various avenues that she joined Fit Orbit club. “With the guidance of the coaches along with the change in my dietary pattern I soon started losing weight. In the first week itself, I lost four kilograms of weight,” she says with a smile on her face.
“Along with weight reduction, I soon realized that skin-related issues and hair-fall were also cured. Along with this, I managed to address the needs of my four-year old daughter with the help of knowledge that I had gained. Slowly everything fell into place and with a consistent effort I managed to lose 28 kilos in one year.”
Sharing own experience to help others
Amrita, however, did not stop at concentrating upon losing her weight alone.
She realized that people often become victims of body shaming due to obesity. Having experienced how people unnecessarily advice obese people to slim down she took it upon herself to share her own knowledge so that people who are desperately wanting to lose weight can benefit.
She became a wellness coach and started training others. She has managed to bring 25 families to follow a healthy and active lifestyle in the last one year. “I know how to recover from problems from my own experience. I teach the techniques that I followed and got the desired results,” she said.
Diet and exercise leads to healthy lifestyle
“Proper exercises by following the correct postures along with eating the required nutrients and nutritional supplements can work miracles,” she says.
“As most foods are adulterated we don’t get the correct nutrients. So I provide the diet charts as per specific body requirement. Again, without following the correct body posture and breathing techniques while exercising don’t give results,” she explained.
She has prepared personalized programs for Immunity, Weight loss, Weight gain, healthy breakfast among others.

She has devised videos with proper guidance on correct exercising techniques for such people. One has to do the exercises while following her video. The person also needs to make a video and send it to her for rectification.

“Whenever I tell my story to people it motivates me to take more effort and reduce further kilos. Now, I feel very happy and want to share my story with others so that they too can experience happiness,” she said.
