The beginning
Twenty nine year old Biswajit Paul of Silchar, Assam always wanted to set up his own company to touch a larger section of people in the society. Because of his passion to help the people, he along with his partner Jewel Sen (32) has founded a company Qwkpro Consultancy Pvt Ltd which offers online medical services.
Paul says fixing an appointment with doctors, lab tests, hospitals, recording of every detailed investigation, healthcare facilities used to be a big issues in Barak Valley, Tripura and Mizoram because of inhospitable terrain.
Launching the firm
He launched www.quickobook.com which is a one stop solution for patients, doctors, clinics and hospitals. Patients can use the website, mobile app and also send SMS to get an appointment of doctors of various disciplines.
The speciality
The company is a registered Start Up firm under Make in India Programme, having 1,200 plus doctors empanelled across the Barak Valley and nearby north-eastern states and touched the lives of over 2.5 lakhs patients so far.
Its daily appointments stand at 350-360 and it has generated Rs 48 lakh revenue annually with more than 8,000 plus daily visitors on its portal.
Employment
He says 1,861 franchisee stores are there in the portal working as a guide for Quickobook enrolled under indirect employment and 16 people are directly employed by the company.
Accolades
The company is incubated In Nasscom, Kolkata, Bengal Chamber of commerce, Assam Start Up Nest, NIT Silchar. It has received Rs 50 lakh government grant Start Up MSAI from Assam Government. The business model has been awarded with 1st runner during i2i competition 2018 held at IIM Calcutta. Biswajit Paul was conferred with Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 Barak Achievers Award by Young Indian Association, North East India Company.
The background
After the completion of MBA, he got hired by Tata but somewhere he was not enjoying so he started his first venture Edu-Care (A study centre for commerce). But his family was more interested to see himself becoming a government servant. He later, stopped appearing in government exams.
