Elders left alone in the mad race for success
The cut throat competition and fire to succeed has been driving us to work round the clock while taking us far away from our loved ones.
The sacrificing of the comforts of the homes is the price that most of them are ready to pay to achieve success. But family life and elders who brought their children with utmost care and affection are the biggest casualties in this mad race to success. Children are leaving homes for far flung areas simply to make their careers while never thinking about those who gave everything just to see their offspring smiling.
The loneliness of elders and senior citizens has become a common problem in both big and small cities.
Start-up to take care of elders
Thankfully, a start-up has come forward in Jamshedpur at Jharkhand to take care of the elderly who need support at the autumn of their lives.
Ranjoy Dey based at Jamshedpur started Tresna Home Care Pvt.Ltd. in July this year to act as a support for those elders who are living alone in the steel city.
How the idea came?
The 41-year-old who has worked with multinationals at senior levels says that personal experiences motivated him to launch the start-up dedicated to senior citizens, “Even I used to stay out of station and realized that I don’t have any good connect to look after my parents or someone who can pass me the information about their well being. I was always concerned about them and felt that most of the people are facing similar situations,” he told Chalgenius.
Launched Tresna Home care
Ranoy who was working in Nagpur in a multinational returned to his home town Jamshedpur in 2018 with an aim to start his own business. He also decided to do something for the elders and senior citizens living alone.
Eventually, it led to the formation of Tresna Home Care Pvt. Ltd in July, this year, “We offer a complete support to the senior citizens like lab tests, physiotherapy, legal services, home attendants, day care club among others. The range of services depends upon the package bought by the client. The minimum service starts from Rs 1499 and goes up to 6999 for a month,” Ranoy told Chalgenius.
He further said that he would soon expand his services to more cities in the country.
According to Population Census 2011 there are nearly 104 million elderly persons (aged 60 years or above) in India; 53 million females and 51 million males.
