The journey
Forty three year old Koushik Banerjee is on a mission to take care of elderly people living alone in the city of joy and support them round the clock not only during any emergency but in any situation.
A commerce graduate, Banerjee has launched a unique startup, called Parents Care parents care, a Holistic Elderly Care Company, in June 2020 to provide both non–medical and medical services to old age people whose families live outside Kolkata or India for different reasons.
Parents Care is a boon for elderly people who often face day to day hardships in getting a string of services, particularly healthcare related.
How it began
Banerjee says that he noticed that old age people need professional services in Kolkata. He then thought of bridging the gap between the need for senior citizen care and the inability of families, largely becoming nuclear and children moving all over the world for lucrative career, to take care of their parents.
24X7 Support
He says Parents Care renders 24*7 support and everything from non medical services like medicine and grocery delivery, caregivers, assistance in banking, and shopping, etc to skilled medical care, from providing nurses and therapists, ICU setup at home etc, allowing elders to live a healthy life.
He attributes dedicated, professionally qualified team as a reason behind the success of his startup. The team remains 24X7 to support the customers with smile. Banerjee told ChalGenius that he has affordable care plans, covering almost all required services for senior citizens that help families of different financial backgrounds to choose us to care for their parents.
Covid19
He states the pandemic has dramatically affected both families and businesses alike. The pandemic has posed many problems like doctors not available for home visit, difficulty in getting admission in hospitals and nursing homes. A few other problems include scarcity in medical equipment like oxygen cylinders and concentrator.
He says the pandemic has taught them more about who they are and the role they play in our communities.
Future Plans
“As we concentrate to bring out more solutions to make old age less painful and more comfortable, increased awareness and consciousness of people, we see our company scaling up in next 2-3 years,” Banerjee says. He is also authoring a book “X Y Zee of Travel Entrepreneurship“ to be published soon.
