Mylocal99, a start-up based out of Katihar in Bihar is an online local service that began its journey in 2019. The aim of the start-up is not only to revive the business of local vendors that have been facing the heat of the giant e-commerce companies like Amazon and Flipkart but also to help the customer to connect easily with the local vendor and ensure instant supply of goods.

The start-up has four founders- Amit Saha who hails from Katihar, Ajay Saha, Ashutosh Khare and Neeraj Jarseniya who come from different walks of professional life, “We were quite disturbed by seeing the condition of local sellers who were facing severe losses due to the global e-commerce companies that were snatching their businesses from them. We decided to do something and started Mylocal99 in 2019. We all had same mindsets because vendors sustaining loses due to e-commerce companies are common in almost all the cities across the country “said Amit to Chalgenius.

Played a major role during the lockdown
Ajay told Chalgenius that the objective of Mylocal99 is to make online services easy for local buyers and sellers and bridge a gap between them. He also said that there services have been helpful during the covid-19 in supplying essential items, “The vendors do home deliveries of their products which means less crowd on streets and more social distancing.”

Ashutosh listed a host of advantages that a vendor can have by using Mylocal99, “It helps vendor in inventory management and product sharing, one time product addition work, easy account handling, orders management, easy accept reject orders, creating own online offers and promotions for customers and increase in business,. It also helps to compete with e-commerce giants by managing price of the products accordingly,”

My local99 is available both in app and website. It can be downloaded, “At present our services are free but soon it would be on subscription model. we are operating in 4 cities Katihar, Pune, Indore, Bhopal and planning to expand in more cities as we are
getting very good response from sellers and service
providers,” said Neeraj to Chalgenius
He further told that they have around 250 vendors collectively and 10k customers have visited their platform in the past 3 months.
