As a child, Kamesh Kumar Saha used to sit at the small grocery shop of his father at Kishanganj in Purnia district of Bihar. Even during his childhood days, he observed that it was not possible for all of their customers to walk up to the shop for their daily needs.
He felt that business could be expanded if the same products are delivered to households at market prices.
Soon, the spread of Internet gave wings to his dreams and he formed Kaberi Online Agri Retailing in 2019. The 20-year-old began to take orders about grocery shop and fresh farm produce like vegetables and fruits through whatsapp and phone calls and supply directly to the customers at their doorsteps.
He also began to provide agri related items like fertilizers and seeds to farmers. His business began to grow in Kishanganj and he has been earning around Rs 25000 per month, “I realised that people living in both urban and rural areas do not have time nowadays because of the fast pace of life. I sensed business opportunity and tried to cash it. I have created a good number of customers because I supply them the fresh products directly procured from farmers at the same rates available in the market and sometimes even cheaper,” says the chirpy youth.
