Anshuman Kumar, the co-founder of Teachmint has announced through a LinkedIn post about quitting the company to focus on building a startup. Here’s more to the same!
Anshuman Kumar, along with the co-founders Mihir Gupta, Payoj Jain, and Divyansh Bordia founded Teachmint back in 2020. The platform was designed to help institutions present teachings to students through digital means. The platform has guided over the years and served as a one-stop solution to everything a student needs.
Kumar’s exit occurs as Teachmint, like many other edtech businesses, struggles to expand operations despite rising losses. It just changed its business model from B2C to B2B. The business, which started off by developing an app to help instructors digitize their classrooms, is now beginning to provide tools to assist with the digitization of schools.
This has highly affected the way everything worked and hence, Anshuman decided to focus on his vision to develop a platform that simplifies the complexities between couples.
About Duolop
According to Kumar, the purpose of the Duolop app is to make maintaining a relationship less complicated for married and unmarried couples alike. It helps couples arrange dates and has a private chat option where they may exchange messages, pictures, and videos. Your personal information, including messages, photos, videos, and phone calls, are all encrypted to guarantee you the maximum level of protection. Nobody can access your data except you and your partner.
The software is currently live on Google Play and will soon be accessible through Apple Store as well.
More about his decision to leave Teachmint
Teachmint underwent a business restructure in November of last year, which resulted in the termination of 45 employees, or about 5% of its whole employment. The startup’s operating income was INR 77.45 Lakh, while its net loss increased 24X to INR 131.70 Cr in FY22 from INR 5.52 Cr in FY21.
According to some well-known sources, the platform discontinued the course-selling process that offered Teachmore.
Anshuman was a key contributor to laying the groundwork for the company’s scalable tech stack and he will continue to lead Teachmint’s engineering team even after leaving his position as CTO.
