What is Sheryians Coding School?
Started from a tiny room and 17 students in 2017, Sheryians Coding School is now a household name among young IT students who are passionate about learning programming languages. Sheryians is the perfect answer for young techies who want to build a career as coders or programmers who are widely in demand today, specially after every business, large or small, has been forced to adapt to the virtual world.
Today, hundreds of students are attending regular coding classes at Sheryians and lucky ones are even getting placed at start-ups and ventures after completing the course.
Started Journey from Bhopal
Sheryians Coding School was started in Bhopal by a young techie trio who were students at that time, also passionate to learn programming but could not find a suitable teacher. They had faced a similar plight of being taught text book knowledge that is way different from the real experience. Harsh Sharma, Adarsh Gupta and Dhanesh Malviya joined hands to start their own Coding school where students would purely get to learn coding languages and programming techniques. According to Dhanesh, “Its impossible to learn coding at a regular BTech college course which is why when we were looking for someone who would help us learn, we found no one. Finally, we met with Harsh Sharma who was a year senior to us. We joined hands to start coding classes for juniors who wanted to learn.” The initial days was quite a struggle for the trio who started their Coding school with just a small room and a projector. At that time, they could not even afford a screen for projection and had to use the white-washed walls to teach. They started with a batch of 17 students.
At present 700 students
Today, however, the student strength stands at Sheryians stands at 700. The cost of the courses is between 3,000 to 15,000. The average course duration is two and half months. During the pandemic, Sheryians was closed for a long time but later floated recorded lectures online for students to learn from their homes.
Placement after Learning Coding:
Although Coders have a good demand in the market, Sheryians has placed many of their students with good start-ups. Through the past few months, several students studying at Sheryians have been placed in small companies and start-ups. “We do not have a proper placement cell and we do not promise placement to any student, however, we have come to associate with some start-ups and they are recruiting many of our students,” said Dhanesh.
Other sections of Sheryians:
Sheryians Community that provides free coding events for colleges. They participate in college fests and other events to spread awareness about coding and also to encourage students to learn programming languages.
Inertia is their in-house community of coders
Girls who Code is new section that will start soon for girls who want to learn coding. The coders community has an imbalance in the girl to boy’s ratio. To encourage girls to become coders, Sheryians is soon starting with a special section for girls to learn programming for free.
