People crave for home made food
Aman Porwal who lives at Indore in Madhya Pradesh noticed that students living in other cities missed the home food. He realized that every state has its distinct taste and culture and people living in other parts of the country should also enjoy the cuisine of particular state. He sensed a business opportunity.
Launched Momskart to provide local cuisine to people
The 22-year-old, a fresh college pass-out launched his start-up Momskart in March, this year that serves a dual purpose-providing the food items that is popular in a particular region to people living in other parts of the country and also work for women empowerment, “I found that students who are studying far away from their hometowns craved for the food items found locally in their state. I realised that every state has its own culture and its special food cuisines and women are experts in making those items in their kitchen that symbolize our culture,” he told Chalgenius.
Turning moms into entrepreneurs
Aman says that his start-up Momskart has a tie-up with homemakers and moms who specialize in making items like pickles, jams and snacks among several others in their kitchen,” We have a collaboration with women across the country who make pickles, jams, sweets and other items. We receive orders and then pass it on to the women who prepare the food products. The items are then dispatched through-ecommerce companies,” he added.
Dealing in over a thousand food items
The young entrepreneur claims that he has tied-up with over 250 women from across the country and sells over one-thousand products, “We sell over 1000 food items and are collaboration is with women living even in remotest places of the country like Darjeeling. We supply fresh food across India,” he told Chalgenius. He is working on a mission of Vocal for local and Atmanirbhar Bharat as propagated by PM Modi.
Momskart connect the women who do their own business of homemade cookies, pickles, etc. Partners with them for Free of Charge and provide them Training and Certification from FSSAI. The orders can be made through Website and app.
