The beginning

For all those who face daily hardships to prepare their meals because of umpteen reasons such as busy professional life and hectic study schedules, Dr Shampa Sahay has got a solution.

Eat gravy mix spices in 7 minutes

Her product is ready-to-prepare gravy mix spices which get ready in seven minutes by adding fresh paneer, chicken or vegetables and of course salt. The good thing is that it has no preservative and it comes with a shelf-life of 30 days. People get fresh food with a hassle-free cooking process.

Dr Sahay, a Microbiologist from FRI Dehradun who lives at Greater Noida says that she has already developed 52 products and run restaurants without any trained skilled manpower. Few of her products are available in the market and it provides cooking convenience to households. Her company Ekan Info cook LLP, founded in 2014, prepares fresh ready-to-prepare gravy.
The target audiences are households, resorts, restaurants, Cloud kitchen, Food joints & Canteen and hostels. It is going to market through direct marketing & franchise. She is supplying her packet products in Delhi and NCR region.

How it began?

The homemaker, who is also a mother, says that it all began in 2011 when she had to quit her job of microbiologist because of the illness of her mother-in-law, “She had a cancer and I had to resign to look after her. I returned home and started to utilize my free time by giving cooking classes to people. Though I had not taken formal training of cooking, I was passionate about food. I had taught cooking over 3000 people in the next two years,” she says while taking a trip down the memory lane.

“During teaching, I realized the common problems faced by people during cooking was the lack of proper idea on adding right kind of gravy and spices,”

Opening her cloud kitchen

She also opened her cloud kitchen in 2016 with a brand name Cook Safari where she made use of the mixture of gravy and spices that she had prepared, “Initially, I had hired cooks but their absence and irregularities from jobs forced me to prepare my ready-to-cook-gravy and use it,” she told Chalgenius.

“This start-up from Jaipur is on a mission to make India healthier by converting used cooking oil into biodiesel”

Covid hampered business

She says that covid affected her cloud kitchen business and she then came up with packets of ready to cook gravy, “We have 52 varieties out of which seven are sold in retail and rest in bulk to restaurants.

No cook, No chef model

Dr Sahay claims that restaurants can use her products to make vegetarian and non-vegetarian as the gravy is ready. She says that she has already run her cloud kitchen without any chefs and others can easily follow the model.

Accolades

Her product has bagged award in UP Startup conclave and has also been appreciated in different forums.
