The prestigious KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (TBI) has been working relentlessly for promoting start-ups across eastern India. KIIT TBI provides an appropriate platform and environment with a world-class infrastructure of around 120,000 sq ft that offers a range of incubation facilities and services to the prospective entrepreneurs to convert their innovative ideas into commercially viable products. It has incubated and mentored over 200 startups till date.
KIIT-TBI, recipient of National Award for TBI in 2017 is a non-profit Section(8) incubator established in 2009, as initiative of KIIT Deemed to be University Bhubaneswar and is supported by Government bodies like NSTEDB, DST, Meity, MSME, BIRAC, TDB to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country, “We have the largest incubator university eco-system. At the moment, there are over 78 companies in-house and due course of time, we have been recognized as Centre of Excellence by the government of India. We are building a new infrastructure for digital health and precision agriculture. Our main agenda is to build a successful incubation model in Eastern and North Eastern India apart from Bhubaneswar,” said Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO, KIIT-TBI
He further said, the venture is set up to facilitate economic development by developing and nurturing entrepreneurs to enable them to establish small, medium – business enterprises.
KIIT-TBI is incubating start-ups in the domain of IT and Engineering, Cleantech, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Agri and Food Tech and other social innovation areas, “Lot of things can be done in eastern India and of course challenges are there but that is what the incubations are built to face challenges and make successful examples,” signed out Mrutyunjay.
