A Haircut is just a call away
Tausif Mohi, founder of flying scizzers, a start-up at Patna in Bihar has solved a major problem faced by the housewives who are too busy to go to beauty Salons. Tausif is offering on demand salon services to women who can get hair cut, facial and colouring with just a phone call at reasonable prices, “I realised that most of the homemakers do not have time to venture outside their houses because of being busy in their household chores or upbringing of their children. They can just avail our services by making bookings over a phone. It saves their time and transportation cost,” said Tausif to Chalgenius.
Trained Women freelancers offer on-demand services
The 32-year-old entrepreneur has recruited women on freelance basis who visit the homes and offer beautician services, “We have trained women who visit the houses and offer on demand salon services. The customers pay directly to us online and then the employees are paid a commission on the basis of the charges. We have trained women from marginalized community to create livelihood for them.”
Aiming for schools and colleges
Apart from on-demand salon, Tausif also runs a men’s salon at BIT College in Patna for students. The young entrepreneur says that the long waiting time for hair cuts in barber shops gave him the idea of coming up with on demand salon services, “We provide haircut in a hygienic environment along with sanitizers and follow the salon industry norms. Our focus is also on residential schools and colleges which have large number of students,” said Tausif to chalgenius.
Hopeful of expansion in business post pandemic
He hopes that the business might get a lift post coronavirus outbreak, “We strongly feel that business would get a boost as people, especially residential students would not venture out unless it is very important. They might be willing to get a haircut inside the campus,”
Planning for hair cut to jail inmates
Tausif has also been approaching jail authorities to take his services for jail inmates, “Salon hair cuts are already been done in jails like Tihar and other prisons in the country. We have been trying to start similar services in Bihar and Bengal but yet to get much success. We will train jail inmates in barbering and use clippers and detailers for safety.”
Over 8000 clients served
Flying Scizzers started in 2018 has served over 8000 customers and going to be soon launched at Ranchi in Jharkhand. The start-up has been recognized and funded by Bihar government.
