Ezy Mov taxis turned into mobile dispensary vans
Ezy Mov, country’ first customised wheelchair taxi has transformed its vehicles into mobile dispensary vans to ensure that Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) can speedily conduct rapid tests of people in Mumbai during the coronavirus outbreak, “We have provided 15 wheelchair taxis to BMC for the vehicles being used as mobile dispensary vans for conducting random tests in the pandemic,” said Bennet D’Cunha, co-founder of Ezy Mov to Chalgenius.
Besides, the start-up has also been offering its services for transportation of kidney patients for dialysis in various health centres in Mumbai.
Ezy Mov was started by Bennet D’Cunha, Romeo Ravva and RRrajesh Patil in 2016. The founders belong from different professional fields before they came together to launch the start-up.
What is Ezy Mov?
Ezy Mov boasts of a technically advanced fleet of cabs fitted with world class equipment like hydraulic lifts and wheelchair restraint system and are driven by a team of professional drivers, “It is a non-emergency healthcare service where person in a wheelchair is able to sit in his own wheelchair and travel with convenience and safely from one point to another. We imported hydraulic wheelchair lifts. As you have a seat belt in a car, in the same way, there’s something called wheelchair restraint system where there are four locks attached to the wheelchair,” said Romeo Ravva, the co-founder to Chalgenius.
How it started?
Rrajesh Patil, the co-founder says that he got inspiration to start the wheelchair taxi service after watching a woman getting out of her car in a seat fitted with hydraulic lift, “I saw a disable woman had no problem while getting out of the seat of the car fitted with hydraulic lift. I thought that it could be a great concept if we start a similar service in taxis and offer rides to the people. I discussed the idea with my two colleagues who liked it. We then decided to launch wheelchair taxi,” says Rrajesh to Chalgenius.
