North East is more beautiful than imagination
India is a vast country with diversity being the incredible feature of it. The country has several tourist spots that attract people from across the globe. The North East is full of natural beauty surrounded by mountains, forests and waterfalls. But often the tourists fail to reach to certain offbeat areas which are full of exquisite beauty as they are ignorant about such places.
Chalo Hoppo offers a tour of offbeat places
A start-up has been organizing trips to unexplored places of North eastern states. Chalo Hoppo is a one-stop destination for those who want to enjoy the pristine marvel of seven North Eastern states of India. It gives you a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine and stay in the lap of nature. The Guwahati based start-up was established by four friends-Nishant Sinha, John Raphael Chetan Jalan and Devraj Barooah in 2016, “The aim was to make people aware about the rich culture of North East as people living in other parts rest of the country were ignorant about the beauty of North East,” says Nishant to Chalgenius.
Sensed a business opportunity from ignorance
The founders who hailed from different parts of the country met for the first time during their academic days at St Xavier’s Mumbai. They were really surprised to find the complete lack of knowledge about the rich tradition of North East, “We thought to launch a start-up that would offer people a trip of offbeat places in North East that were indeed breathtaking,” he added.
Completed over 5000 trips
Since its formation, the start-up has served over 5000 customers. It offers both customized and calendar trips. The expenses for the trip start from Rs 3000 and goes up to Rs 49000.
Enjoy the unknown places of North East
Chalo Hoppo offers breathtaking trips to Khonoma Asia’ greenest village in Nagaland to unknown places in Nagaland, “We have around 12-15 guides who belong from the local areas. It helps the tourists to have a better experience of offbeat regions. We have done over 5000 trips so far,” told John to Chalgenius.
Coronavirus affects the business.
The coronavirus outbreak has however taken a toll on the business of tourism. Chalo Hoppo says that is has also lost business, “We have lost major chunk of business due to the pandemic. We were expecting good season this year but the virus has dashed our homes. We don’t know when the situation would become normal,” said John.
