Adding life to the dreams
Dr. Yogitaa Mandhyaan is an experienced and trained physiotherapist (musculoskeletal), weight management specialist, and sports nutritionist. She hails from a doctor’s family. Realizing the hectic and busy schedules of her family members, she decided to choose a relatively new and different field where she could get time for herself as well as she is occupied in a good way by helping society for a noble cause. She completed her physiotherapy course at the esteemed VSPM’s College of Physiotherapy, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
After that, she acquired the world’s best sports nutrition and weight management knowledge from the National Council of Strength and Fitness (USA) and the American College of Sports Medicine. She has aspired to open her own rehabilitation centre since her college days. Finally, on 5th February 2014, she institutionalized ‘Shape & Strength,’ aiming to provide holistic treatment for the individuals approaching the centre.
Striking balance between work life and household life
A mother of 2 kids, yet committed to lead the centre independently on her own. She was born and brought up in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. She did her higher studies in Nagpur and then shifted to Kolkata with her husband. The first challenge she faced was that everything was entirely new for her, the culture, language, and people. Second, she has her own household to run along with her physiotherapy clinic. Her husband and her family were very supportive throughout her journey.
A whole new approach
Shape and Strength believes in relieving pain scientifically. It provides the patients an alternative to medicine and improves the quality of their life by making them mobile. It focuses more on holistic development by bringing a lifestyle change in the patients for long-lasting improvements in a short time. Shape and Strength cure patients through physiotherapy sessions for pain relief owning to muscle pain, neck pain, ankle pain, and knots formation (some prevalent problems patients face).
The patient then puts on a weight management programme, and diet consultations are given accordingly. In addition, the facility of a gym is also available for patients’ complete fitness. Shape and Strength has employed qualified staff for various therapies and certified trainers for the gym.
Treatment’s Framework
When a patient approaches Shape and Strength, it primarily focuses on improving the muscle strengths of the patient. Physiotherapy sessions are arranged accordingly, taking cognizance of the problem’s severity. After course completion, some home exercises and ergonomic advice are given, and the patient is laid off.

Fighting misconceptions
People are not aware of physiotherapy as a field.
