The introduction

Forty two year old Santosh Sharma who is a well known author, a motivational speaker and cultivator of a dairy farm in Jharkhand is on yet another mission to fulfil his long cherished dream.

He is a management expert and has written the world’s first book on “dissolving the boxes” – designed to replace “think outside of the box” for attaining success. He also goes to IIMs, IITs, XLRI and other organisations for his lectures and talks. Santosh has been continuously mentoring professionals from Fortune 500 companies, Navratna, multinationals and other organisations like Tata Steel, Air India, Hero, HPCL, ICICI and several others.

What’s the plan?

Sharma is contemplating to launch an online school, DTB World School for kids’ overall development and make them future-ready. He says the biggest exam for any children is to face the real challenges thrown by life. The kids should not only face the academic exams but they should learn how to deal with massive challenges of their lives, he told Chalgenius.
That apart, a 21 variable-based course is also open to professionals so that they could learn how to face challenges, handle pressure, enhance efficiency and become a better professional.

Not an ordinary school

The school would not be an ordinary one where children attend classes and gain bookish knowledge rather it would be a medium to enable kids hone skills like developing focus, have better vision, health and fitness and technical skills among many others.
The school plans to enroll students for three years from standard seven to tenth. The vice president of Tata Steel,Raman Jha, is also a mentor of the unique initiative.

21 variables

Sharma told Chalgenius that these three years of any student is really important as he or she can learn many key skills in this age and learn how to have a deep focus.
His school is based on the concept of developing 21 major skills of children including self awareness, developing focus and vision, decision making, health and fitness, social, technical skills, identify purpose and achieve them.
Moreover, it would also include live full, be happy and reconciled, be action oriented, develop common sense, build resilience and coping mechanisms, develop power of observation and curiosity, have universal relevance, academic and performance excellence, management, leadership, entrepreneurship, be future ready and financial planning.

The motto

When asked about the motto of launching his venture, he replies that he wants to bridge the gap of ‘India’ and ‘Bharat’ by imparting right set of skills to children.
“The difference between success and failure is how we receive, process and respond to situations,” Sharma says, adding that a lot of potent energy is wasted on depression, anger, frustration, handling pressure, confusion which can be channelized constructively.

Sharma who faced tremendous hardships to complete his studies because of his family’s poor financial health, says that he is determined to train 500 students in the first batch. He is also endeavouring to help the underprivileged kids by taking them into the fold of his school. All they need is a laptop, desktop or mobile phone and an internet connection to enroll, he says

The certificate

He also says that he will have “parallel report” cards tracking the change in the 21 parameters. He would be giving certificates to kids and professionals for excelling in their course which would be acceptable in the industry as well. On this, he says such certificates would be the testimony of a candidate’s mental strength and capabilities.
