3-Way Emergency response platform
Lucknow-based Snigdhaa Ritesh has developed an integrated computer and mobile aided emergency response platform called LAADLI to ensure women safety. The victim doesn’t need to call the women helpline; she just needs to shake her mobile.
Mobile shakes and crimes-types reported on app can help the Police agencies to get real-time insights of Crime against Women Data Analytics pan State – City-wise,Dark Spots, Crime Types, Crime Times, Victim Age Graph, etc. The State Governments can easily identify ‘Dark Spots’ and take corrective measures via Crime-Data Analytics like ensuring functioning/installation of CCTVs, increasing means of commutations, police patrolling, women check posts, anti-romeo squads, providing sufficient streetlights at the right place; thereby reducing the overall crime rate against women.
How did it begin?
Snigdhaa runs a social startup and is a former journalist with 15 years of experience in the media. She started working on LAADLI in 2014 and developed a comprehensive tech solution within three years before approaching the Uttar Pradesh government for its adoption. In domestic violence and dowry cases women are under captivity and face a lot of physical and mental torture. Many a time’s school and college going girls face eve-teasing but with fear of malevolent and societal shame they remain silent which leads to depression and college dropouts. These incidents when go unreported lead to heinous crimes as the malevolent is never booked in absence of crimes registered. She has been in talks with a few state governments to get some patronage and have her solution get implemented by them.
Championing women cause
She has stood for women safety issues and has proactively advocated women empowerment issues. “To address women safety issues and curb crime against women, I have developed an innovative tech solution for women helpline after four years of thorough research and consultations with various stakeholders. I aim to promote safety, education and awareness to women through this app” she told Chalgenius.
LAADLI has received accolades from Niti Aayog’s CEO Amitabh Kant and it appeared in Top-100 select social startups invited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Laadli is a complete package of safety, awareness and empowerment!
The 3-Way Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) makes LAADLI unique as it ensures only genuine distressing messages get forwarded to the police control room for initiating action to save women in trouble.
It cuts down Police response time to five minutes ensuring instant help for victims as the app sends exact Geo-location to Police. The victim doesn’t need to call the women helpline; she just needs to shake her mobile.
Not only this, women can report crime types using the stamping feature. Provision of e-FIR and redirections to Women Laws and Flagship programs is also well-knitted in the app.
User can set journey route while travelling from Auto, Ola/Uber and post pic which will be delivered to all save emergency contacts in app on deviation from the route.
Identifying Dark Spots
State Governments can easily identify ‘Dark Spots’ and take corrective measures via Crime-Data Analytics like ensuring functioning/installation of CCTVs, increasing means of commutations, women check posts, anti-romeo squads, providing sufficient streetlights; thereby reducing the overall crime rate against women.
Cutting edge tech tools
The woman entrepreneur says that LAADLI uses the latest technologies like Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and IoT. It will ensure the safety of women populace and help the state governments to identify ‘Dark Spots’ and take corrective measures via Crime-Data Analytics and ERSS (call, sms, email + pic with Geolocation). Laadli can reduce the overall crime rate against women by 15% to 45% in the first year of inception in different geographies.
