A start-up from Odisha has been creating job opportunities for thousands of youths across the country

Several youths were jobless

Himanshu Shekhar Panda who hails from Bhubaneswar in Odisha considered himself to be lucky to have got a decent job in a private company soon after completing his mechanical engineering from University of Odisha.
But soon he realized that 95 percent of his colleagues were unable to get a good job and were starving because of lack of employment opportunities coupled with absence of proper infrastructure.
He felt that the situation was severe and his concerns were compounded with the facts that Odisha was having high numbers of unemployed engineers across the country.

Start-up for skill development

Himanshu decided to do something and discussed the issue with his colleague and friend Nihar Ranjan Panda. The duo came up with an idea to launch a start-up for the skill development and training of engineering students.

Skyy Riders offer training to engineering students

Eventually, they founded Skyy Rider Institutions in 2016 (LLP) and converted it to private limited company in February, 2018, “We collaborated with institutes having great labs which were unused mostly. We developed their infrastructure and introduced programs which can provide great quality of training and employment opportunity. With this strategy we were able to impart high class of training with little investment,” said Himanshu to Chalgenius.

Skyy Rider offers purely industrial and hands-on practical training in the field of Advanced Automative Technology,Advanced Robotics, Industrial IOT, Aerospace Engineering, Drones, Electric Vehicle and all the training domains are leading in their respective field.

Eminent trainers

Nihar told Chalgenius that Skyy Rider has eminent and experiences trainers from respective fields, “Our online training programs are taken by respective experts of different field remotely which provides a direct industry interaction with students. Most of them are working in some industry in their relevant areas.”

Successful collaboration

The company has successfully collaborated with Ashok Leyland, Hyundai, EIcher, Mahindra, Bosch, Godrej for various training programs. The start-up has also collaboration with over 40 companies for regular campus drive and our alumni are excelling in those companies.
The centres are in Odisha and Hyderabad and 15,000 students have been successfully trained.

Various diploma courses

To help unemployed graduates they have started various diploma programs for different branches which offers placement in core sector, Start-up guidance and profile building for abroad study support. Just in 2 years they have reached to 92% of placements in core sector, have created more than 7 successful start-ups by providing training and hand hold support and 12 students have successfully made in to top universities of the world for MS.

Understanding the current scenario of COVID and panicking situation of students, Skyy Rider has started free online courses for all students in collaboration with industries & experts. Students can enrol and learn various ranges of course in free of cost and get a certificate. They have a vision to introduce online courses driven by experts and industries in variety range of fields to help students in upgrading.
