Short listing candidates through CII-iPATE 1.0
Calnestor, a knowledge management start-up from Kolkata has been providing competent and talented engineers to various corporate as per their requirements. The start-up has been conducting exams for engineers in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) called CII-iPATE to screen talent across the country and helping the CII member companies to recruit right kind of candidates, “Normally, the short listing of engineers are done on the basis of their mark sheets but that doesn’t reflect their true picture because different states have different system of marking. The mark sheet is not always an authentic way to judge the talent of the candidate,” said Sandip Boral, the Director & CEO of Calnestor to Chalgenius.
Providing competent engineers to the companies
Rupak Biswas the other Director told Chalgenius that the aim of the exams is to evaluate the technical competency through scientific and automated process, across geographies, to define a ready-made and customised recruitment strategy and to match the requirement across disciplines, domains and functional areas, “The CII has over 9000 members and it helps them to recruit the competent candidates through the exams. 25k engineers across 18 disciplines are going to be benefited through CII – iPATE.”
Why Calnestor?
Calnestor was incorporated in 2016 after Sandip a senior engineer who was working in MECON, a public sector utility, realized the duel problems faced by the engineers and companies-the absence of proper coaching to engineers and the recruitment of talented and right kind of engineers in companies to fulfill their vacancies. Sandip started building the platform since early, 2015 and connected his ex boss Rupak Biswas and senior colleague Joydeep Dasgupta to add some values into it.
Creating India’s largest techno professional community
The duo decided to do something. They started calnestor, a knowledge management company to offer Technical enrichment and professional networking for Engineering fraternity through ENGGtalks, “We have developed India’s largest techno professional community of Engineers within ENGGtalks, in collaboration with The Institute of Engineers (India) [IEI], the largest professional body in India. At present, more than 1.5 lakh engineers are being served by ENGGtalks networking platform. It is a free service and we do not charge anything from the engineers. We have highly enriched technical content for the engineers, which includes 1.4 lakhs Technology news, 20000+ video lectures of eminent academicians from IITs and IISc, thousands of community contributed Documents, Articles, eBooks, Specifications, Discussion Forums etc.,” said Sandip to Chalgenius. The start-up has been incubated at Neotechub of Ambuja Neotia Incubation Private Limited.
