Covid-19 has brought unprecedented situation before the world. Without the availability of any drugs to cure the diseases, the emphasis is being given on increasing immunity as it is being believed as the only way to combat the deadly disease.
Namhya Foods helping to boost immunity
Ridhima Arora, a nutritionist at Gurugram in Haryana who has her company based out of Jammu& Kashmir has been selling the products manufactured from ayuverda herbs to keep people strong and healthy and enhance their immunity.
Her start-up Namhya Food has been dealing in ayurvedic food with local ingredients and no preservatives. The products, all from ayurveda herbs, are manufactured in her plant at Jammu and Kashmir.
Healthy and popular products
Some of the popular products include Heart tea, Kashmiri Kahwa, brain foods, Gond Katira among others. The products are free from preservatives and harmful ingredients since they are totally natural.
Heart tea is a powdered form of Arjuna Chhal or Arjuna bark of the tree. It is a caffeine free herbal tea and can be used by anyone since it is 100% safe and natural, “Our another product brain foods are roasted nuts and seeds with zero vegetable oils, artificial flavours, corn starches, added sugars and preservatives. The products have a shelf life of 3 months as food losses its soul after that,” she told Chalgenius.
“We have used traditional herbs like saffron, arjun chhal, cardamom, star anise etc in our products which have natural healing properties and help revive the prana (yogic breath) in the body and helps to rejuvenate, she told Chalgenius
How the journey began?
Ridhimi who is a B.tech in electronics and communication had shed 30 kg of her weight in 2014. The young entrepreneur says that the presence of hidden ingredients in the packed food items made her upset and she felt the food items should contain only those items mentioned outside, “I realized that the health food (fad) industry has made the situation even worse. The healthy oats biscuit hardly had any oats. The dangers of sugar free everything was hardly known. The browns of the bread were actually a fad. Consumers were ignorantly eating the food that claimed to be healthy and nutritious but had no such qualities at all. They were also paying hefty prices for it,” said Ridhima to Chalgenius.
