Dasgupta has also worked as a content marketing strategist and head with several tech companies in the US, UK, Israel, and India to help them grow their revenue and visibility with content and social media.

Started Flop2Hit in 2018

After returning to India, he got settled in Gurugram in Haryana. He launched his platform Flop2Hit in 2018 as an experimental project for publishing blogs and informative content on startups and entrepreneurship.

Dearth of vernacular content for entrepreneurs

But after returning to Kolkata, he realized that there was a severe dearth of vernacular content for entrepreneurs, especially those hailing from Bengal. Dasgupta decided to do something for start-ups founders and entrepreneurs who was facing serious issues while understanding the English contents available both digitally and physically, “I felt that there was no vernacular comprehensive learning platform available to learn about different aspects of a business in India. I decided to do something for it,” Dasgupta told Chalgenius.

Lessons in regional language

Soon, he started publishing entrepreneurship articles in Bengali as well, “During that time, many of our Bengali subscribers who are primarily micro-entrepreneurs asked to offer courses in Bengali to learn and understand complex business concepts better. I also realized that business enthusiasts and owners in districts and tier 2 and tier 3 cities do not have adequate access to the resources on entrepreneurship. They are also not literate enough to understand the content in English and lack any credible institution to get any training,” he told Chalgenius.

Rebranding Flop2Hit into an academy

“Eventually, after lot of planning, we started Flop2Hit Academy, this year and offering business courses in Bengali along with Hindi, and English. Articles and blogs are still an important part of our educational content program,” he told Chalgenius.
